Individual Programs

  • Student will learn the components of the computer, how to create, save, and file documents using proper management procedures. Students will also learn how to search the Internet for potential job opportunities. 

Intro to Computers

  • Students will learn the proper technique for answering a telephone, as well as medical filing systems, scheduling appointments, other major administrative tasks, and expectations of a Medical Administrative Office Assistant. 

Medical Office Procedures

  • The student will become familiar with the basic and advanced features of spreadsheet software as they apply it to business communications.  Students are provided with opportunities of building and develop spreadsheet formulas to manipulate data in order to achieve business solutions. 

Microsoft Excel

  • The student will learn the use of presentation software.  Students will become familiar with the basic and advanced features of Microsoft PowerPoint software as they apply it to business communications. 

Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Using all of the CPT-4 manual's sections, this course teaches how to code using the CPT-4 procedural coding methodology. Additionally, students will use the HCPCS Level II manual to determine and assign the proper coding.

Medical Coding

  • After completion of this course, the student will learn the uses of creating databases in Microsoft Access including tables, forms, queries, and forms as they apply to business communications. 

Microsoft Access

  • The student will learn the theory and basic financial techniques utilized in a physician’s office and other health care facilities. This will include gaining insight into the administrative and clerical aspects of a medical office. Furthermore, the principles and applications of medical and financial records management, billing details, appointment scheduling, insurance processing, and accounts receivable will be explored. 

Medical Billing

  • Students will learn and recognize word roots, prefixes, and suffixes used in medical language today. Students will also learn how to combine words to construct relevant medical conditions as well as comprehend their definition and know the correct spelling. In this course, students cover medical terms related to all major body systems, including muscular system, skeletal system, respiratory system, circulatory system, digestive system, reproductive system, & urinary system. 

Medical Terminology

  • The student will learn how to manage email, calendars, contacts, tasks, to-do lists, and documents or files on a hard drive. Students will also learn how to communicate through email, phone support, and group scheduling capabilities.

  • The student will learn how to create, save, and print documents using Microsoft Word.
