Policies & Important Information
Tailor-Made Training, LLC. provides one-on-one training to students. There are no set starting dates. Once an authorization is received, the trainer will contact the student to set up a time to begin training. We recommend meeting at least 3 times per week with a minimum of 2-3 hours per session. Reinforcement assignments are given to the student to reinforce what is taught in the one-on-one training session. Times are scheduled at the mutual convenience of the student and trainer.
Attendance Policy
Attendance is mandatory at Tailor-Made Training, LLC. Students need to make a commitment of at least 2 days per week for a minimum of 2 hours of training. Tailor-Made Training, LLC. uses a 24-hour cancellation policy for each session of training. If the student doesn’t call or attend the scheduled training appointment, the student is charged for the missed scheduled hours. If the student calls outside of the 24-hour window to cancel the session, no time is charged for the missed session. After missing 3 sessions, the student will be put on hold. Suppose the student is being funded by either the Office of Rehabilitation Services or the Department of Labor and Training. In that case, the student’s counselor will be notified to discuss the absenteeism issue. Once the counselor gives the go-ahead to complete training, the student will be contacted to resume training. If the student continues to cancel or miss trainings, the student will once again be on hold until an attendance plan is put into place between the counselor, the trainer, and the student. If the student cannot complete the training due to absenteeism, see the Refund Policy below. Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act-funded training may be provided only to individuals who qualify for the program, and if funds are available.
If the student is not being funded by the agencies mentioned above, Tailor-Made Training, LLC., will work with the student to assist with retaining the student during the training. After 30 days of no communication, the student will be dropped from the program.
Grading Policy
Students will be assessed after each course. The following grading system will be used to determine a pass/fail grade.
Refund Policy
Effective Date: December 1, 2010
Revised: October 2021
Below you will find our current refund policy. Please read it carefully, as this is the official policy in force at present. The policy listed below supersedes any other written document you may have received before today's date. If you have any questions or comments about this policy, please do not hesitate to contact us.
In the case of students requesting a cancellation and/or refund within three business days of signing the student enrollment agreement before classes have begun, the school will cancel the application and provide a full refund to the school. In the case of a student enrollment application rejection by the school, the school will cancel the application and refund the full amount paid to the school. All students are required to acknowledge training services received by signing a sign-in sheet at the end of each training session. If training is discontinued, a refund of any unused funds will be returned. Any funds that resulted from completed training will be retained by Tailor-Made Training, LLC. We use a 48-hour cancellation policy for each session of training. If the student doesn’t call or attend the scheduled training appointment, the student is charged for the missed scheduled hours. If the student cancels outside of the 48 hours to cancel the session, no time is charged for the missed session. Failure to attend two consecutive sessions will result in placing the student on hold, and no future trainings will be scheduled until a meeting with the student and trainer is conducted to determine the cause of the cancellations. At that time, a plan to continue training without absences will be conducted.
Refunds will be issued on the last day of attendance if the student is dismissed by the school, or ten school days after the last day of attendance if the student withdraws, or the earliest of the postmarked date of the student's written notice. The school may keep no more than $100 if tuition is paid in advance of the student's arrival and the student does not show up. The cost of the training is paid in full on the first day of attendance. Following the policy mentioned above, all training hours consumed will be reimbursed.
Grievance/Conduct Policy
Effective Date: December 1, 2010 / Revised 4/22
Tailor-Made Training, LLC. strives to ensure that all students are treated fairly. A student who believes that he or she has been treated unfairly may choose to write a letter of grievance to the President of Tailor-Made Training, LLC. Students must professionally conduct themselves at all times.
PURPOSE OF THE PROCEDURE/INTRODUCTION
Tailor-Made Training, LLC. aims to ensure that students with a grievance relating to their training can use a procedure that can help to resolve grievances as quickly and as fairly as possible.
INFORMAL DISCUSSIONS
If a student has a grievance about their training, they should discuss it informally with their trainer first. We hope the majority of concerns will be resolved this way. If the grievance is not resolved by informal discussion with the trainer, the student should contact the President of Tailor-Made Training, LLC. If the trainer assigned to the student is the President of Tailor-Made Training, LLC., the student shall address the letter of grievance to the RI Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner.
STAGE 1 – STATEMENT OF GRIEVANCE
Students being funded by an outside agency must put their grievance in writing to both Tailor-Made Training, LLC. and to their counselor at the funding organization if the student feels that the matter has not been resolved through informal discussions. If the student is not receiving funding from an outside agency, the student must also put their grievance in writing and submit the document to TMT. If outside counsel is required, TMT will seek outside counsel to resolve the grievance.
The grievance shall specify:
1. The matter at issue or dispute with a clear and concise statement of the nature of
the grievance, including when the incident or situation leading to the grievance occurred;
2. The remedy or solution sought;
3. The date of the filing;
4. The name, title, and signature of the grievant;
5. The document shall contain all points to be included in the grievance,
including the dates and results of prior discussions.
6. Facts not contained in the written grievance document may be introduced later in the procedure
only with the consent of all interested parties.
STAGE 1 – STATEMENT OF GRIEVANCE
Within 15 working days, the President of Tailor-Made Training, LLC, will respond in writing to the statement, inviting the student and the counselor/attorney from the agency to attend a meeting where the alleged grievance can be discussed. This meeting should be scheduled to take place as soon as possible, and normally, within 5 working days, a notice of this meeting will be provided to the student. All meetings will be focused on factual information. Every attempt will be made to conclude the meetings as quickly and efficiently as possible. Students must attend the meeting, but if a student cannot attend the meeting for any unforeseen reason, the meeting must be rescheduled. After the meeting, the grievance must be written to the student informing them of any decision or action and offering them the right of appeal. This letter will be sent within 7 working days of the grievance meeting and should include the details on how to appeal.
STEP 3 – APPEAL
If the matter is not resolved to the student’s satisfaction, they must set out their grounds of appeal in writing within 5 working days of receipt of the decision letter. Within 5 working days of receiving an appeal letter, the student should receive a written invitation to attend an appeal meeting either in person or virtually. After the appeal meeting, Tailor-Made Training, LLC. must inform the student in writing of their decision within 7 working days of the meeting. Their decision is final. Failure by the administration at any step of this procedure to communicate the decision on a grievance within the specified time limits shall permit the aggrieved to proceed to the next step. Failure by the aggrieved at any step of the procedure to appeal a grievance to the next step within the specified time limits shall be considered as acceptance of the decision rendered at that step without the right to appeal. Workdays exclude Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, sick leave, and scheduled vacations. The time limits specified may be extended only by mutual agreement between the student and Tailor-Made Training, LLC.
